Here's where we went + What we thought

Summer Concert Series by 4333 Collective @ Spruce Street Harbor Park every Thursday through September 24th at 7:30pm FREE Schedule Available Here - We've been attending the early days of these annual, no-cost, waterfront shows. Pierce Jordan covered the rock band Uranium Club, who kicked off the event series Read Here and Tyler Maxwell wrote about some special sets from some local bands that took to the stage this past weekend, like Full Body 2 and Taurus Judge (their music is listed in the playlist below) Read Here.

Here's we're going + What we're expecting

Hex Files/Subtle Body/Exquisite Corp @ Strung Up Friday June 12th at 7pm $10 - SYNTH PUNK SHOW! Carrboro NC's Hex Files play cool girl music (positive connotation). Subtle Body are making goth shit and remind me of Bauhaus!

The Cowboys/Mesh @ Sweet Peel Saturday May 13th at 6pm $15-$20 - Indianapolis power poppers The Cowboys will be joined by hometown post-punk heroes Mesh. Luxurious two-band bill for fans of Omni and The Beach Boys.

Fuck Ice New Sanctuary Movement Benefit Show ft Shande/Izzy True/Was/Sarina @ Cambria House Saturday June 13th at 7pm, entry with donation of any amount to New Sanctuary Movement - Shande put out my favorite record last year... Lush instrumentation, genuinely powerful political folk adjacent stuff. They will be joined by MY ROCK BAND Izzy True (sorry for self-promotion but it's for a good cause lol), who make "harmonically dense guitar music," from NYC, as well as Philly psych-rockers Sarina. This event is organized by Fishtown Neighbors Against Ice and hopes to serve as an opportunity for people to learn more about anti-ice organizing in their neighborhoods. Tabling by No Ice Philly. Don't forget to BYO t-shirt for printing.

Click through for a weekly mix from Tyler: "Here’s a playlist of songs by / footage of artists I love who either HAVE played in Philly recently, or WILL play soon, starting with Michael Martin Doherty of Another Michael, who's hitting the stage at Johnny Brenda’s tonight."
