Here's where we went + What we thought

West Philly Porchfest - That annual day where the city's musicians take to public stairwells to play their little hearts out returned as usual this weekend. Check out Tyler Maxwell's coverage of conga lines, crowd surfs and, of course, the bands Read Here as well as John Morrison's piece on a DJ Collective that gathered in Common Beat Music to show that turntables build community just as much as much as live music does Read Here

Here's we're going + What we're expecting

Elsewhere Fair @ Yowie Friday June 6th from 5pm - 9pm, FREE - A fine art fair hosted at Yowie Hotel curated by Blah Blah Gallery. Instead of booths, exhibitors will install their art in the rooms of the hotel! There will be related events from June 4th-June 6th all over the city, check them out here. Bring a date to the first Friday event and impress them with your sophistication.

The Tiny Chair Show III @ 124 N 3rd St on Friday June 5th from 6 PM - 10 pm, FREE - Stickball presents... 125 tiny chairs made by 125 normal sized artists! Come see the tiny chairs. Do NOT try and sit in them, I'm sure they will be too small.

My Wife's An Angel with Morgan Garrett, Ken Mujo, and Grocer @ Thunderbird Hall Saturday June 6th at 7pm, $10-$20 NOTAFLOF - Psychedelic noise rockin' Philly band My Wife's An Angel celebrate the release of their new album "Keep Honking I'm About To Kill Myself." Sounds like a midlife crisis (complimentary!) This will be a loud one- Morgan Garrett (Orange Milk records) is heavy as hell. Ken Mujo (Harrisonburg, VA) and the joyfully angular Grocer should provide some melodic counterbalance.
